Dartboards – How the Parts of the Dartboard Work
The most common types of dart parts are the tip, shaft and the dart shaft. The tip is attached to the end of the dart with a small cone shaped piece called the tip bead, which has two ends. The tip can be made from many different materials, but most commonly it is made out of brass or chrome-plated steel. These tips are either attached to the ends of the dart with needle nose pliers or with stripped down ends of other darts.
The shaft is the part that is not attached to the tip of the dart but is instead attached to the barrel of the dart. This is the part that adds velocity to the dart and determines the flight characteristics. The shafts are usually made of three parts – the main shaft, the guide and the landing. The main shaft is made up of a straight portion with a circular section on top. The guide is the portion that guides the dart when it is fired and the landing portion helps the dart land in the right location.
The most commonly used dart parts are the tip, shaft, and the landing. Each of these parts play an important part in the dartboard’s game, so players tend to change their playing style based on the one that they have. For example, a snorer will tend to play with a different playing style than a dart straight shooter. Snorers will tend to use a much lighter cue stick than a straight shooter or they will grip the handle of their cue more tightly.
